These are hardy evergreen succulents and grow well in West
Wales. They can be planted in pots, containers, walls and
between paving stones and are being grown on roofs as 'green
roofs'. They will grow in very little soil as they have short
roots.
The gel from the broken leaves can be used to treat minor
burns and nettle and insect stings in the same way that Aloe
vera can be used.
